hmmm....not too bad looking at it. and of course, i also missed my camp friends. National Service is an experiece that i will simply sum it up as FUN. during this time, i get to do lots of things. well not only getting the priviliege of travellin first class for training to places such as Brunei, Thailand and Malaysia but also getting to noe people from all walks of background.
i also had the opportunity to show my hidden talent. that is long distance running. i represented my unit in this category and brought glory for them and most importantly for myself. Army half marathon, Nike challenge are just some of the competition that i represented for my unit. and of coz, the many many inter unit challenges as well. i also went for centralised training with some of the fastest marathoner in my division for 3 mths. and for 3 mths, we did nothing but run run run n run n more n more runs!
i was also given the opportunity to be among the first 6 melayus to go thru combat survival training yes CST. went thru the same course that caused the death of the 2sgt at commando camp. was called up by the CID as well and interrogated abt the training. hmm...dun wanna tok abt that lah. well this cst course is very beneficial. it taught us how to kill and skin animals like chicken, frog, squails and even monitor lizard. well i ahd the undaunting task of killing a squail! tsk...was terrible. i simply just pluck out its head. hmm hope the animal rights activists are not reading this!
most importantly its the friendship that i have nurtured with my section and fellow platoon men that i will cherish. my fellow section commanders and partner in crimes, are such a blessing. there were so many firsts for me when i entered army. and i just can't sum all my experiences in just a few words. but nevertheless, its a phase in my life that i had never regretted goin thru. for it had definitely made me a better person, a more patient, rational, caring, gung ho individual
and it is thru wat my fav encik says, i quote "you either leave army a better person, or the same person you came in as" and it was really a choice for me. as for me, i choosed the 1st one
i would wanna give a big hug to these important people who came into my life during my NS stint. to my platoon, i.e platoon 9 charlie 10mono 6sir, sispec Echo Coy bslc and aslc.
alamak...the list is just too long arh...heehee
thank u to these guys as well
and i do apologize if i had bore any of u when reading this long entry. well i guess if u were bored u wouldn't be reading this part of my entry coz u would have left earlier! hahaha
